Our Gujarati School responded and our students completed the full Summer term through digital learning. After consultation and recognising the uncertainty in the community, we have decided to embrace online learning beginning September 2020 and all our classes will be delivered using digital means.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We will continue to evolve and implement changes to create a comprehensive and inclusive approach to learning.&nbsp; Whilst holding traditional values and strengths and incorporating innovative approaches to keep children engaged.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h1>CURRICULUM<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Language and Teaching<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WHGGS follows the accredited national curriculum, preparing the young students for GCSE&nbsp;qualifications, which develops the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking the Gujarati language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teachers are using more creative methods of teaching based on Montessori style of interactive song, dance , flash cards and story telling. We use IT tools, past papers and GCSE projects whereby some topics are applied to cultural activities during&nbsp;assembly time. All these methods emphasise the core reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More Information on the following topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/whggs.co.uk\/?page_id=553\">Teaching Staff<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/whggs.co.uk\/?page_id=25\">Management<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Topics covered<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WHGGS follows the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/qualifications.pearson.com\/content\/dam\/pdf\/GCSE\/Gujarati\/2018\/specification-and-sample-assessment-material\/Specification-GCSE-L1-L2-in-Gujarati-Draft.pdf\">Pearson\/Edexce<\/a>l&nbsp;GCSE Gujarati Syllabus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These areas cover such topics as: everyday activities, personal and social life, the world around us, the world of work and the international world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each class has its own Scheme of Work. Weekly lesson plans covering individual topics are prepared. The topics all build to the GCSE syllabus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Classes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are currently 4 classes ranging from 5 year old to GCSE,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At present, we cater for students with an average class size of 10-12 students to 1 teacher. The younger classes have assistance which support the teachers in ensuring the children are catered for, this enables students of all abilities to get personal and tailored learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following are the allocated class names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gokul, Ayodhya, Tirupati and Vrindavan<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Test and Exams<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will be tested at the end of each term, allowing the teachers to gauge progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of each school year the students will sit end of year assessment to review their progress so as to&nbsp;allow the Teachers to assess progress of the students\/classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The School Rules<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parents, teachers and students must observe the code of conduct for successful digital learning. Students are required to show respect to the School, Teachers, Governors, property etc. Specific conduct is required and unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cultural Development<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We ensure that all the children are aware of the significance of each major festival eg. Navratri, Diwali, and Christmas to name a few.<br>To further develop the Gujarati culture we organize several cultural events and fun days throughout the year.
